Thun, Switzerland

Thun, is a wonderful little town, where life moves at a slower pace.

There is castle (Schloss Thun), a river and a lake, and old town with wooden bridges to wonder along. It is most certainly a beautiful place. Surrounded by mountains it screams “This is Switzerland” to you.

The wooden bridges are not only a bridge but serve a sluice for the river, controlling the water levels perfectly and providing a standing wave for surfing. I was quite surprised to see people walking the streets with surf boards, only to find them moments later on the opposite side of the sluice, surfing away. Why not, I guess.
