Etosha, Namibia

Oryx in Etosha

Etosha is Namibia’s flagship park and with good reason. It is place like no other I have seen. The landscape changes constantly from trees along the underground rivers to short scrub grass that seem to survive just off from the salt pan. The park is vast with only a few roads but lots to see. One one day we spotted 18 lions, black rhino and white rhino. Each day brought a host of fascinating moments and interactions. Never having been to Namibia or Etosha before, I was not sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The roads were in good condition and the people mostly friendly. The facilities within the park, however, were somewhat lacking and rundown.

Definately a place to visit again.
